The Best Brownie You Ever Tasted

I tried tons of brownie recipes over the past years but none of them tasted like this one. Of course, many tasted very good but the downside was, they always contained a lot of refined sugar, processed flower and milky chocolate. This vegan and gluten-free brownie recipe is pure heaven in contrast. The sweet-potato-date-mix creates just the perfect moist a brownie needs, the flower is replaced by nutrient-rich almonds and the sweetness comes naturally from the sweet potatoes and a tiny bit of maple syrup. I promise you, once you have tried this healthy brownie version, you will never want to go back to the brownies you used to prepare. By the way, if you let the brownie cool in the fridge over night, they even get better I personally think. (Hence, they are also perfect to prep beforehand :))

This Vegan & Gluten-Free Brownie Recipe Is "Kinderleicht" To Prepare

All you need to prepare these delicious vegan, gluten-free brownies is a a pot to cook the potatoes, a food processor or hand-held mixer to mix the potatoes and the dates, and a few delicious toppings to style your cake at the end. In this recipe I used puffed amaranth and blueberries (see image below). Yet, feel free to try anything you can find in your kitchen. Chocolate goes with (almost) everything I think!

Super Moist & Healthy Sweet Potato Brownies (V, GF)

This is the most amazing “GLUTEN FREE & VEGAN Sweet Potato Brownie” recipe in the world! I’ve never made a brownie recipe so many times I think but my friends always submit the official request for it when they invite me somewhere, even the ones who normally couldn't care less about veganism and a gluten-free diet. 
INGREDIENTS PREPARATION
INGREDIENTS :
    • SWEET POTATO BROWNIE CAKE :
    • -  
      500g sweet potatoes (around 2 medium potatoes; cooked and mashed)
    • -  
      12 dates (mixed into soft puree with food processor or hand-held mixer)
    • -  
      6 Tbsp maple syrup
    • -  
      150g ground almonds
    • -  
      60g old-fashioned oats
    • -  
      2 Tbsp melted coconut oil
    • -  
      6 Tbsp cacao powder
    • -  
      1 pinch of salt
    • GLAZE :
    • -  
      2 Tbsp coconut oil
    • -  
      3 Tbsp almond butter
    • -  
      1 Tbsp maple syrup
    • -  
      2 Tbsp cacao powder
PREPARATION :
  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees (C.). Then, peel the sweet potatoes,, cut them into large chunks and place them into a pot of hot water. Cook the potatoes until they are super soft. This will take about 20-30 min depending on the chunk size.
  2. Once the potatoes are ready, place them into a food processor. Add the soft date puree and mix everything until you end up with a super smooth and thick dough.
  3. In the meantime, combine the melted coconut oil with all the remaining ingredients (maple syrup, almonds, cacao powder and salt). Stir well.
  4. Then, add the sweet potato-date mix with the almond-spice mix and stir until smooth. Et voila – The dough is ready.
  5. Place the batter into a baking tray and bake for about 40 minutes at the above-mentioned temperature. However, take a look at the dough after around 30 min. If the top is already getting dark, make sure to remove it from the oven.
  6. Take the brownies out and let them cool for at least 1 hour before adding the glaze.
  7. To prepare the glaze, take a pot and place all the glaze ingredients inside (coco oil, almond butter, maple syrup and cacao powder). Put the pot onto you stove and heat it over medium heat until all ingredients have melted. Stir occasionally during this process.
  8. Once ready, let the glaze cool down for about 20 min. Then, pour the glaze over the cooled brownies. That's it - Los brownies más delicioso del mundo.
